Organise Like a Pro and Keep Your Sanity Intact
Let’s be honest — nothing kills creativity faster than hunting for that one rogue bead that’s rolled under the table. The right storage containers aren’t just “nice to have” — they’re essential for keeping your beads, findings, and tools sorted, safe, and ready to use. In this post, I share my favourite bead storage solutions (from compact travel cases to modular stackable boxes) that keep my workspace tidy and my projects stress-free. I complied this list after months of buying the wrong tools and finding out the hard way.

The Essentials
1. Stackable Bead Storage Boxes
Perfect for keeping beads sorted by colour, size, or type — and easy to stack neatly on shelves or in drawers.
Why you need it: You can see everything at a glance and never have to dig through random zip-locks again. These are not suitable for tiny beads.
Things to think about when you are selecting:
- Will tiny beads escape each compartment or the box itself?
- How deep are the compartments?
- Can the compartments be adjusted?
- Can you expand the number of layers?
2. Individual Divided Craft Storage Boxes
Adjustable compartments mean you can customise them for your projects — from tiny crimps to chunky gemstone beads. They come in a mind-numbing number of styles and varieties. Shown here are the ones I prefer and recommend.
The do not generally fit large gemstones and some pendants. I recommend you buy as many as you can afford as you will need 3x more than you think. I find I use the 15 grid more often then the 18 grid.
Bonus: Great for travel. Just grab a section and go.

30 sealable boxes. Ideal for sead beads that you have in multiple colours. They seal well and keep the tiny beads very secure. Also good for findings.
3. Bead Caddies & Drawers
If you have a big collection (or a bead obsession you’re no longer denying), caddies or drawers make sorting blissfully easy. These are for the seriously obsessed.
Why it works: Everything has a home — and you’ll stop buying duplicates because you forgot you already had six bags of turquoise beads.
4. Bead Jars
Tiny beads? These push-cap jars are your best friends. They’re airtight, easy to label, and fit beautifully into larger boxes or drawers. These are an alternative to the 30-compartment organiser.
Pro tip: Keep one stack for seed beads and another for gemstones or findings.

5. Bead Funnel Tray
Ever tried pouring seed beads back into a jar without one? Yeah… don’t. This little funnel saves time, mess, and your sanity.
6. Bead Scoop or Triangle Trays
These little trays make bead sorting, counting, and cleanup so much easier. Perfect if you’re using multiple colours or sizes.
Small joy: Pouring beads back into the container without spilling them. Bliss.
7. Stick-On Labels
Clear labelling means no more guessing what shade of “Aqua AB” you’re looking at. Plus, it makes your stash look pro-level organised. You can print or handwrite on these.
💬 Final Thoughts
Good organisation isn’t just about neatness — it’s about saving time, money, reducing frustration, and keeping your creativity flowing. Whether you bead occasionally or daily, investing in smart storage pays off every time you sit down to create.
Start with the basics, upgrade as you grow, and remember: a tidy workspace is a happy beader’s playground.
